HISTORY

SECURECO METSU was formed as a result of the mergers and acquisitions of several successful security companies in South Africa.


2003
The company was incorporated on 16 January 2023.


November 2003
The Fidelity Services Group purchased 100% of Abavuno Joint Venture (Pty) Ltd. The company changed its name from Abavuno Joint Venture (Pty) Ltd to SECURECO KZN
(Pty) Ltd with new B-BBEE partners.


December 2011
After negotiations with Metsu Trading Projects 3 (Pty) Ltd a new relationship was established, Holdings (Pty) Ltd sold 51 % of SECURECO KZN to Metsu Trading and retained 49%. The company name was changed and SECURECO KZN (Pty) Ltd is now known as SECURECO METSU (Pty) Ltd.
The shareholders have diverse extensive experience from various industries. They bring great contribution to the business. In a market renowned for poor performance, unreliability and exploitation of staff, they realised the potential for a well-constructed, black-owned company that combined the critical synergies of local knowledge, effective management, thorough training and swift response to client’s needs and seized the opportunity.

Ms Rejoice Philisiwe Noncedo Khumalo

BRANCH MANAGER

Rejoice Khumalo is the branch manager of Secureco Metsu, she has several years’ experience in the security industry. She joined the she has several years’ .She joined company since 2002 as a Grade C guard. She embraced the challenges across Kwa Zulu Natal, demonstrating her passion for challenges across Kwa Zulu Natal, demonstrating her passion for learning and growth within the Security sector. In 2013 she achieved the National certificate in Risk management and she is achieved the National certificate in Risk management and she is currently on SMDP 11 course.

Mr Niren Mahabeer

FINANCE EXECUTIVECHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICERGUARDING AND SPECIALISED SERVICES DIVISION

Niren joined the Group approximately 17 years ago, as a Regional Financial Manager for the KZN region. Through his handwork, perseverance, and dedication he moved swiftly into the Guarding Coastal CFO role and further onto the CFO for the Guarding and Specialised Services Division.
Niren has a highly celebrated track record and has been mentored and coached through the group’s internal employee growth offerings, having come through the ranks with the inaugural SMDP, and Executive Coaching sessions. He was a top 5 finalist in the 2019 Rising Accenture Rising Star Awards for the Transport, Logistics and Security Industries in South Africa, and achieved a Top the 3 placing when he completed the prestigious Executive Leadership Programme through the WITS Business School.
From an Academic perspective, Niren holds a BCom Degree, BCom Honours Degree, a Master’s Degree in Business Strategy (passing cum Laude from the Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom), as well is an Associate (ACMA) Member of the Chartered institute of Managements accounts in the United Kingdom and holds CGMA and AICPA designations through the AICPA in the United States of America.
